You are a Designer and using the Quantum Figma Design Libraries? Please read the following important note. MAJOR UPDATE - Light/Dark v0.20.0 & v0.4.0 libs are Deprecated and won't be maintained anymore -> Migrate to Light/Dark v1.0.0 libs

Design libraries - Major Updates

Since early September, you will enjoy of 2 new Design libraries; Light/Dark v1.0.0.

This update is major and involves a deprecation of the former libraries Light/Dark v0.20.0 & v0.4.0.

Note that the v0 libraries will remain accessible, however they won't be maintained anymore. It means that it's time to Migrate to Light/Dark new libraries(v1)

We recommend you to Migrate your on-going projects to the new libs and always start new projects with the v1 libs, it's for the best and your own good!

Why we made this change?

Few months ago, Figma company made a major update of its tool and the philosophy on how we the components/variants should be designed. With this new update comes what they call; Figma properties.

New Figma properties

It is now possible to define which parts of the component that designers can change by tying them to specific design properties. This allows designers to control things like whether layers are visible, in this context you can swap an icon or change the text, or if effects are applied for example. And while also avoiding you clicking every layer to find key variants options such as icons or text.

With this new update the Quantum team took advantage of summer break and this update to fully rearchitected the components for being more usable and make many fixes and improvements

Figma properties listing:

Boolean: this one allows you to easily show/hide any layer in the component instance.
Instance Swap: often used for Icons, allow you to swap a component instance for another one (any other instance of any other component) with a simple dropdown.
Text: allow you to edit a character string from the variants panel. Whether you update the text directly from the instance or in the variants panel, the string will update in both places.

New update of the Quantum business icons library

Defense workbench – Sketch library initialization

As you already may know the Thales Design platform is based on Figma, the leading design platform provider. It is a Saas-based Platform providing the most advanced design system integration and instant scalability. FIGMA Licensing is now integrated within TCE ITAM.

However this platform is not compatible with C3 and more levels neither Defense/Military projects environments.

Which is why with the contribution of TSN UX Agency we extended the Quantum Design System coverage to Sketch Design tool with a Foundations library package (colors system, typography system, iconography, grid and shadows).
