Quantum project

Scope

In 2021, the DIS-CPL business line team, launched several initiatives to start adopting Quantum.

One of these initiatives was the building of a new digital product, with two different touch points: one for IT administrators, which means a very detailed, thorough interface with a lot of information, and one for end-users, a more straight forward, friendly user interface that focuses on driving the user through a complex process with really simple instructions.

Within this case study, the team wanted to experiment and deep dive into Quantum Design System, discover all of its capabilities, the pre-defined styles and components, the extensive documentation and see how they could benefit from it, and how it could fit DIS digital needs.

The case study proceeded with the objective to create a new admin console and end-user smart card authentication by using Quantum Design foundations and components.

Outcomes

This case study was a driving exercise, Quantum has been tested and approved in two very different use case contexts:

end-user interface

During the experimentation, the team noticed the degree of completion and the quality of the Quantum assets. They mentioned that the components were working so well that they retro-engineered Quantum’s assets from design perspectives to understand how the assets were built and to see how the DIS team could apply the same Figma Design techniques on their existing designs, and to extend Quantum and improve the quality of the product deliveries.

The SafeNet ID Prime designers created high quality and pixel-perfect interfaces thanks to the design system and the flexibility and plug and play way of designing it enables.

For these reasons, the SafeNet ID Prime team are confident that Quantum will help DIS elevate its game when it comes to crafting beautiful and professional interfaces, and that it will save them time and money when building their next digital solutions.

Today, Quantum has become essential for them, and now, every project that they start, they start them using Quantum.

I would say Quantum design system is very thorough and complete. There are a lot of components already available, and whenever we need business specific components for our products, we can just build them using Quantum. It’s like assembling Lego bricks!
